This page is dedicated to the most popular mountain biking destinations in our region – Vienna and Lower Austria. Within a radius of 60 km from Vienna you will find everything you need for any type of modern cycling. The most interesting of them are listed on this page.
As you have already noticed, Vienna is not located in the highest mountainous region of Austria. But despite this we can find almost unlimited opportunities for mountain biking, gravel and road cycling. All we need is your desire and time to ride.
If we look at the map, we will see that just an hour’s drive from Vienna there are already mountains with a height of about 2000 meters. This means that we have everything to do our favorite thing – make cool and fun bike tours for you.
If you have a car, you can freely ride on the best Austrian trails within an hour of leaving crowded Vienna. no car? Hop on the train with your bike and head south. an hour and a half drive and you are in the full mountains.

Best places for biking
First of all, this is Vienna. Just because you might be here. Everything is simple here – take a bike and go to the western part of the city. We can find any activity here – in the Vienna Woods, which stretches from the Danube 30 kilometers to the south.
If you want more interesting and wild places, we recommend moving 30 kilometers south from the capital and exploring the surroundings of Medling and Baden. Lots of mountain biking and gravel trail opportunities.
If you want to visit some of the best bike parks in Austria, then get ready to spend an hour on the road and go to the bike parks Wexl Trails and Semmering.
